Top Ten Beach Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Ok, so for me, beach reads translates to chicklit. Chicklit is usually light and fun and girly and carefree, which makes for perfect beach reads. That’s why a lot of these on the list below are chicklit-type books. J
1) The Summer My Life Began by Shannon Greenland. Duh, it takes place on a tropical island. There is no better beach read.
2) The Maya Davis series by Erynn Mangum. Maya’s hyperness and high-spirited antics will having you laughing so hard that you’ll get the attention of every hot, muscular lifeguard on the entire stretch of beach. *wink*
3) The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn. The author lives in Hawaii now. It’s an understatement to say I’m a lot jealous.
4) The Lauren Holbrook series by Erynn Mangum. Let’s just leave it at this: anything by Erynn Mangum would be a good beach read!
5) The Patchwork Circle series by Judith Pella. The fact that I put this series on this list might strike you as odd, but I really enjoyed this series and sped through the three books. They’re romantic and humorous and I’d definitely take them on vacation!
6) 86 Bloomsberg Place series by Melody Carlson. Just so you could have a good laugh at the situations Kendall gets herself into (ok, so she is capable of getting herself into some deep doo-doo, but most of her dramatic, extravagant whims can be quite funny).
7) The Holly’s Heart Series by Beverly Lewis. I wasn’t the biggest fan of this series when I read it, be if you’re looking for some cutesy middle-grade reading fun while on your vaca, this is definitely for you.
8) Where I Belong by Gwendolyn Heasley. A quick and easy read that’s made for summer.
9) Beguiled by Deeanne Gist and J. Mark Bertrand. If you’re looking for something a little heavier, this romantic suspense might be just the thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and really need to get around to reading it again.
10) Belles by Jen Calonita. A girly contemporary that takes place on a North Carolina coastal community. Somewhat cliché but super fun.
