I agre...Thanks for reading my loooong post, Camila! I agree with you- NA is not *just* about sex. Nor do YA readers suddenly get introduced to it when they read NA. However, NA does contain a heavy amount of sexual content, and for some people (like me) that kind of content just doesn't meet our moral standard for books. I'm not trying to bash NA or people who read it, nor am I trying to sound self-rightous. All I'm saying is that I don't feel comfortable reading the amount of sexual content many NA books contain. <br />In conclusion, I'm honestly just stating my opinion on this new genre. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I just thought it would be beneficial to explain to my readers why they aren't seeing a lot of NA reviews here on Gobs and Gobs of Books. =) Happy reading!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07517629132352002392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3152950964331655840.post-60958485723956229992013-06-15T01:50:18.007-04:002013-06-15T01:50:18.007-04:00I don't think NA is just about sex, or that YA...I don't think NA is just about sex, or that YA readers are like suddenly introduced to sex or something. I mean, I'm a young reader and before NA I already read Adult Fiction. NA is more about finding your sexuality, while Adult is about just enjoying it. I actually think that NA addressing this is good, since it features characters you could relate a lot more with and sometimes learn for. And the genre dealing with the subject doesn't necessarily mean that smut scenes are all over the place. For example, Beautiful Disaster isn't about sex. There are like 2 or 3 sex scenes. Yes, there are hot kisses, but that's also the stuff of YA. I think that calling it Smut Fiction is simply inaccurate. And even if it were, I don't really see what'd so bad about it. Why is sex so taboo? IT's a natural thing. Anyway, NA is not erotica, not at all. At least, I don't think so. Because I think erotica is kind of boring while the NA genre is incredibly good.Camilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02957238758912949393noreply@blogger.com
